Gaurang Patel and Nil Harsola, who are studying computer science and a minor, committed the fraud by shopping online. three friends are computer masters. who hacked online shopping wallets and made purchases and committed fraud.
A woman living in Navarangpura area lodged a complaint that she has been using a shopping app called Myntra for the past 5 years. while checking the wallet, it was found that an online purchase of 3300 rupees was made. so the woman filed a complaint in Navrangpura police station
These students cheated by getting people’s data on free combo mail access website on Telegram, changing mobile and email id without the knowledge of the customer, hacking the wallet and shopping online through a bug (error) on the Myntra website of online shopping.
Gaurang used to make online purchases from the hacked Myntra wallet and deliver the parcel to Nil’s address in Ahmedabad. Nil used to sell these items and get 20 percent commission. minor also took 20 percent commission and sent 60 percent rupees to Gaurang.
Investigation revealed that the students committed the fraud as they needed money to pay hostel fees and for entertainment. Gaurang had previously reported the bug (error) twice through email on the Myntra website. but as Myntra did not increase security, these youths committed fraud and committed fraud by making 20 online purchases in one and a half months. at present, further investigation is being conducted by questioning these students.
