An IndiGo flight travelling from Dubai to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Rajkot International Airport on Sunday after a smoke alert was detected in the aircraft’s cargo compartment.
Flight IGO1452, carrying 194 passengers and crew members, was diverted to Rajkot as a precaution after the pilot received a warning about smoke in the cargo hold, triggering concern among those on board.
The pilot immediately informed air traffic control and sought permission for an emergency landing. Rajkot airport authorities activated emergency protocols, deploying fire tenders, ambulances and other rescue teams before the aircraft touched down safely.
The aircraft landed without incident, and all 194 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported, and authorities later confirmed that the situation was brought under control.
