Amid rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and increasing operational expenses, Air India has decided to reduce flight services across Gujarat. Vadodara will lose two direct Delhi flights during June and July, while Rajkot’s Delhi and Mumbai services will also remain suspended during the monsoon travel season.
To manage higher fuel costs and streamline operations, Air India has revised its schedule on the Delhi–Vadodara route. Flight AI-2866/2867 will remain suspended from June 1 to July 31, 2026.Another service on the same route, AI-1701/1808, will also remain cancelled from July 1 to July 31, 2026. The move is expected to reduce direct travel options between Vadodara and Delhi during a busy travel period.
Rajkot flights will also be affected under the airline’s revised network plan.Air India will suspend its daily morning Rajkot–Delhi service and evening Rajkot–Mumbai flight throughout June and July.
As per the updated schedule, flight AI-885 between Delhi and Hirasar (Rajkot) will remain suspended from June 2 to July 4 and again from July 9 to July 31. Its return service, AI-886, will also remain cancelled during the same period.
Similarly, the Mumbai–Hirasar flight AI-2730 and return service AI-2731 will stay suspended from June 1 to July 31.The airline’s decision is part of a wider effort to manage operational costs amid fluctuating fuel prices, though it is likely to temporarily affect air connectivity in several parts of Gujarat.
