A 35-year-old man from Rajkot has been waiting outside Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s Mumbai residence for more than a month, hoping to meet his idol after walking nearly 700 km barefoot.
Ashok Kanjariya, a Rapido rider from Rajkot, began his journey on February 17, 2026, and reached Mumbai on March 6 after 18 days of walking. Since then, he has been visiting the actor’s home in Juhu daily but has not yet been able to meet him.
Ashok said he took the journey to fulfil his long-standing dream of meeting the actor, whose films have inspired him. He also revealed that he has been walking barefoot for over a year as part of a vow and will only wear footwear after his wish is fulfilled.
The long journey took a toll on his health, with swelling and pain in his feet. During the trip, he received support from locals, with many offering food and shelter along the way.
In Mumbai, Ashok spends his days near the actor’s bungalow, hoping for a glimpse. He often eats at a nearby temple and has been managing his stay by spending around ₹500–600 per night or sleeping at Juhu Beach and railway stations.
Despite repeated attempts, security guards have not allowed him to meet the actor and have even warned him against coming frequently. Still, Ashok remains determined and says he will not return home until he meets Akshay Kumar.
His story has gained attention on social media, with some people trying to help him reach the actor. His young son has also appealed in videos, requesting the actor to meet his father.
Ashok’s admiration for Akshay Kumar comes from films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Kesari, which he calls his favourites.
