A 24-year-old woman from Ahmedabad and her mother are facing online harassment after their morphed images were shared on social media.
The woman, who runs an online cosmetics business and is also a student, filed a complaint with cybercrime police on Monday. She said an unknown person created fake accounts on platforms like Instagram and YouTube using her photos.
According to the complaint, AI tools were used to edit and turn their pictures into obscene images and videos, which were then posted with offensive captions.
The harassment has been going on since December. The woman said she first noticed a fake Instagram account with a name similar to hers and her photo as the profile picture.
She added that despite trying to get the content removed, multiple fake accounts were created to continue targeting her and her mother.
Police have registered the case and collected digital evidence like screenshots and links. Officials said they are now tracing the accounts and investigating to identify the accused.
