Shoppers in Ahmedabad are on high alert after a shocking case of online fraud emerged from the city’s New Cloth Market. Unscrupulous scammers have created a fake Instagram account to trick unsuspecting customers into making purchases.
The scam began when an unknown individual set up an account under the name “classic_collection_stor_02.” Using the New Cloth Market address, this person lured shoppers by offering clothing and other goods. However, once payments were made, no products were delivered.
This deceit led numerous victims directly to the physical store, demanding refunds and explanations. Frustrated patrons arrived at the shop only to discover they had been duped.
Prashantbhai Arvindbhai Vaghela, a 30-year-old manager at LB Group located in New Cloth Market, filed a complaint with Kagdapith police. He reported that the scammer had posted the store’s address without any consent from management. To prevent further disputes or chaos among customers, Vaghela reached out to authorities for assistance.
Kagdapith police have registered a case under IT Act provisions and are now investigating the matter. As they work to track down the perpetrator, officials urge residents to remain vigilant and verify online sellers before making purchases.
