Ahmedabad police have arrested a man accused of raping a Hindu woman after he masqueraded as a Hindu using a fake identity. The incident unfolded in the Odhav area, where Mohsin Pathan created a fraudulent Aadhaar card under the name of “Mohit Patel” to deceive his victim.
The two reportedly met during a bus ride while she was traveling on an AMTS bus. Pathan established what seemed like a genuine relationship with the woman, who is a widow, and promised her marriage. However, things took a dark turn when he took her to a hotel and assaulted her.
It wasn’t until after the attack that the woman discovered Pathan’s true identity. Shocked and distressed, she promptly ended their relationship and reported the incident to local authorities at the Odhav police station.
In response to her complaint, Odhav police swiftly apprehended Pathan, who had been working as an AMTS driver on contract. They are now expanding their investigation into this troubling case.
