A tragic road accident took place early Thursday morning near Mogaldham on the Bagodara–Bavla National Highway in Gujarat, when an Eeco car carrying pilgrims returning to Sabarkantha from Chotila overturned after the driver reportedly lost control.
One person died on the spot, while six others suffered serious injuries. Eyewitnesses said the impact was so strong that the vehicle flipped and landed nearly 50 metres off the road, causing panic among other commuters who rushed to assist the victims.
Ambulance teams from Bagodara and Bavla reached the site quickly. The injured were given first aid at Bavla Government Hospital before being shifted to Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad for further treatment.
Bavla Police have sent the deceased’s body for post-mortem and begun an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
