A 23-year-old woman, Preksha Akhani, died by suicide after jumping from the 14th floor of a building in Shastrinagar, Ahmedabad. Police said she had long aspired to become a doctor but went into depression after scoring low marks in Class 12, which shattered her dream.The incident took place at the Sardar Patel Housing Scheme, where her body was found near Block A.
A set of keys in her pocket helped identify her. Originally from Viramgam, Preksha lived with her brother in a PG accommodation in Ghatlodia while working at a laboratory.
According to police, she had been under stress over her career and took the extreme step. Further investigation is underway.
