A moment of chaos erupted in the Supreme Court on when a lawyer attempted to throw a shoe at Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai during court proceedings.
The incident was swiftly contained as police took the lawyer into custody. While being escorted out, the accused reportedly shouted, “Hindustan will not tolerate disrespect to Sanatan.”
Despite the disturbance, Justice Gavai remained composed, telling the courtroom, “These things don’t affect me. Continue with the hearing,” before proceedings resumed as usual.
Authorities are investigating the motives behind the act, while court security has been reviewed to prevent similar incidents in the future.
