Khadia police have arrested a 28-year-old delivery agent for allegedly stealing 171 parcels, including 129 high-end mobile phones worth over ₹49 lakh, from an e-commerce distribution network. The accused, Mohammad Shabbir Mansuri of Astodiya’s Abdulwadi, reportedly used the proceeds to fund trips to Maharashtra, Goa and Rajasthan.Police said Mansuri, employed with a local distributor handling Amazon consignments, was assigned on July 14 to deliver a consignment from Naroda godown to Khadia’s Gol Limda distribution point but never completed the deliveries. Soon after, customers reported missing packages. A check revealed 164 mobile phones, including 45 iPhones valued at ₹22.5 lakh, had vanished.Inspector Chirag Gosai of Khadia police said Mansuri confessed to selling several stolen phones outside Gujarat at throwaway prices. “He had been missing from work for days and used the money to finance his lifestyle,” Gosai said.Acting on human and technical intelligence, police tracked and arrested Mansuri, recovering several parcels from his home. Investigators are now trying to trace nearly 50 phones already sold.Mansuri was produced before court on Friday, where police sought his remand to probe the racket further.
