Unseasonal rain is expected to continue across Gujarat for the next six days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In its latest forecast, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli over the next 24 hours.
All other districts in the state of Gujarat, with the exception of these southern districts, are expected to have mild to moderate rainfall.
Along with this, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Botad districts are likely to experience isolated thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 50-60 km/h (in gusts) and moderate rain during this time.
According to the forecast, rain is expected to lessen in intensity starting tomorrow, although it is still possible that there will be rain in isolated areas across all districts until May 11.
With the exception of Kutch, all districts are expected to get mild rainfall on May 12.
Rainfall is possible in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu on May 13.
Following this period of rain, brought on by many cyclonic circulations, the state is expected to see normal weather starting on May 14.
