Gujarat witnessed widespread rainfall on Monday morning, with 172 talukas receiving rain between 6am and 10am, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar. The rain led to waterlogging in low-lying areas in several places and brought down temperatures.
Borsad taluka in Anand district recorded the highest rainfall during the four-hour period, receiving 4.53 inches (115 mm) of rain. Godhra in Panchmahal recorded 3.39 inches (86 mm), while Tarapur in Anand received 2.87 inches (73 mm).Dholka in Ahmedabad district recorded 2.76 inches (70 mm) of rain. Gandevi in Navsari received 2.72 inches (69 mm), Karjan in Vadodara 2.68 inches (68 mm), and Vadodara city recorded 2.36 inches (60 mm).
Megharaj in Aravalli received 2.24 inches (57 mm), while Matar in Kheda recorded 2.09 inches (53 mm) and Maliya Hatina in Junagadh received 2.01 inches (51 mm).Bhesan in Junagadh and Halol in Panchmahal recorded 1.81 inches (46 mm) each. Limkheda in Dahod and Vagra in Bharuch received 1.46 inches (37 mm) each. Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad, Padra in Vadodara and Modasa in Aravalli recorded 1.42 inches (36 mm) each.Light to moderate rainfall continued across several other parts of the state.
According to the forecast, Gujarat is likely to receive more rainfall during the day.
