The Sabarmati and Ahmedabad bullet train stations on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Rail Corridor are being developed as multimodal transport hubs, allowing passengers to connect with railways, metro and city bus services from a single location. The Sabarmati bullet train station is being constructed between Sabarmati Dharmanagar and Sabarmati Jail Road railway stations.
A multimodal transport hub is also being developed nearby, providing connectivity with Indian Railways, the Metro and city buses. The integrated facility is expected to make last-mile travel more convenient for passengers. The Ahmedabad bullet train station is being built above platforms 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the existing Kalupur railway station. It will be directly integrated with the railway complex, allowing passengers to transfer between regular trains and the bullet train more easily.
The Ahmedabad station will also provide connections to the Metro and city bus services. Lifts, escalators and other passenger facilities are planned to improve movement between different modes of transport. The multimodal approach at both stations is aimed at reducing transfer time and improving last-mile connectivity. Passengers will be able to switch between the bullet train, regular railway services, Metro and buses without having to travel long distances between separate transport facilities.
The 508-km Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Rail Corridor will have 12 stations. The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is developing the stations and associated multimodal transport infrastructure.
