A 20-year-old man escaped unhurt after his car crashed into an iron-sheet barricade at a road diversion on the ISKCON Bridge on SG Highway in Ahmedabad early on September 15.The accident took place around 3.30 am near Wide Angle when Het Parikh, who was returning home from Gandhinagar, allegedly lost control of his car while driving at high speed.
The vehicle rammed into the iron sheet installed as part of the diversion.The car suffered extensive damage to its front bumper, bonnet, rear deck and both sides of the body. However, Parikh and others were not injured.Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and registered a complaint against Parikh for allegedly driving negligently and causing an accident on a public road. Further investigation is underway.
The diversion was put in place as construction work is underway on a road connecting the ISKCON Bridge approach to Karnavati Club. The ramp opposite Wide Angle was opened two days ago as part of the traffic arrangement.
