After revenue employees, Gujarat State Land Records Class-3 employees have also announced an indefinite strike from September 11, bringing various land-related services to a halt. The employees will remain present in their offices but will not carry out any online or offline work.
As a result, services such as issuing property cards, land measurement, ANA opinions and land acquisition work are expected to be affected. The employees had submitted several demands to the government and later issued a 30-day ultimatum for their issues to be resolved. However, they alleged that no action was taken.
The employees’ union subsequently informed the Deputy Director of the Land Records Department about its decision to go on an indefinite strike. One of the main demands is an increase in the pay scale of senior surveyors from Matrix Level-5 to Matrix Level-7 and that of surveyors from Matrix Level-4 to Matrix Level-5.
The employees have also claimed that the Chief Minister had given in-principle approval for the grade pay on December 30, 2025, but the decision has not yet been implemented by the department. The union said the strike will continue until the government accepts its demands.
