The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all affiliated schools to carefully verify student details before submitting examination data, after repeated errors caused delays and operational difficulties during recent examinations.
In a communication to school principals and heads across the country, the Board said several schools had submitted incorrect information about students’ personal details and subjects, despite repeated reminders.CBSE said incorrect subject codes or subjects, as well as errors in students’ and parents’ names and other personal details, had resulted in correction requests after data submission.
The non-submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) and student details within the prescribed timeline had also created problems.“Despite the fact that schools were reminded several times by CBSE to ensure correct submission of personal data and the subjects offered by the students, there were errors in the data submitted,” the Board said.
It added that such errors affected its ability to maintain examination timelines and efficiency, while also creating unnecessary difficulties for candidates.CBSE has therefore asked schools to keep all student information updated and verified before submitting the LOC.
Schools have been told to check the student’s full name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ or guardians’ names and spellings, subjects as per the prescribed scheme of studies, photograph and signature in the required format.
The Board said registration for Classes 9 and 11 and LOC submission for Classes 10 and 12 will begin shortly.“It is important that all candidate details are thoroughly checked for accuracy before submission, as errors may lead to complications later in the examination process,” CBSE said.
The Board also urged schools to ensure proper coordination and planning for the smooth conduct of the 2027 board examinations and timely declaration of results.
