The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jamnagar police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly practising medicine without valid qualifications as part of an ongoing crackdown on fake doctors.
The accused, Mahananda Kamalkanta Goswami (51), was apprehended during a raid in Singhach village of Lalpur taluka. A case has been registered against him at Meghpar (Padana) police station.
Police said the accused, originally from West Bengal and currently residing in Singhach village, was found treating patients and prescribing medicines despite not having any recognised medical degree or licence.
During the raid, officials seized medicines, medical equipment, and ₹8,435 in cash, which was allegedly earned through illegal practice.Further investigation is underway.
