Two motorcycle-borne men allegedly fled with a laptop bag containing ₹9.2 lakh after staging a fake road-rage confrontation on SP Ring Road near the Khetlapa tea stall on Wednesday evening. Sarkhej Police have registered an FIR and launched a search for the unidentified suspects.
According to the complaint by 22-year-old Dhruv Dilipbhai Chauhan of Shela-Bopal, he and his cousin Jay were returning home from an angadia office after collecting cash when the robbery occurred around 5:30 pm on December 10.
Chauhan had collected the money—mostly ₹500 notes—from an angadia firm on his father’s instructions. The cash was kept in a laptop bag inside their Baleno car.
Near the Khetlapa tea stall, a man aged around 30–35, riding a black Pulsar and wearing a helmet and blue shirt, approached their car alleging they had hit him. When the cousins did not stop, the biker sped ahead, blocked their way on the VIP Road service lane, removed his helmet and confronted them aggressively.
While the two were distracted, a second accomplice arrived on another motorcycle, opened the passenger-side door, grabbed the laptop bag and fled with the first biker.
The bag contained an HP laptop worth ₹10,000 along with the cash. Chauhan immediately alerted police, who reached the spot and escorted them to Sarkhej Police Station to lodge a formal complaint. Chauhan told officers he could identify the primary accused by face.
A case has been registered under relevant BNS sections related to theft and robbery. Investigation is ongoing.
