Ahmedabad witnessed a dramatic scene on Tuesday morning when two women allegedly hurled beer cans at police personnel near Naroda Nana Chiloda Circle.
According to officials, a patrol team noticed the women carrying bags suspected to contain liquor. As officers approached, the women reportedly dropped the bags on the road and began throwing beer cans at them in an attempt to flee.
A brief scuffle followed, after which the police detained both women. Several beer tins were recovered from the seized bags.
Naroda police have confiscated the liquor and initiated action under the Prohibition Act. Investigators are now probing the source of the alcohol and whether the women are linked to a wider bootlegging network.
