The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday arrested three suspects from Ahmedabad while they were allegedly supplying weapons and planning terror attacks across India.
Officials identified the accused as Dr Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, Mohd Suhel, and Azad, who had been under ATS surveillance for nearly a year.
“They were caught red-handed while supplying weapons. The trio was involved in planning attacks in different parts of the country,” the ATS said in a statement.
Earlier this year, the Gujarat ATS had arrested five Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) members, including a woman from Bengaluru accused of running an online terror module with links to Pakistan.In July, the agency also apprehended four AQIS-linked operatives from Delhi, Ahmedabad, Aravalli, and Noida.
