Gandhinagar, Oct 27 — Four residents of Bapupura village in Mansa, Gandhinagar district, have reportedly been kidnapped in Iran after being duped by an agent who promised jobs in Australia.
Their families have sought urgent help from the Union Home Ministry.According to Mansa MLA Jayantibhai Patel, who has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the victims — Ajaykumar Kantibhai Chaudhary (31), Priyaben Ajaykumar Chaudhary (25), Anilkumar Raghajibhai Chaudhary (35), and Nikhilkumar Ramanbhai Chaudhary (28) — left India on October 19. They were flown from Delhi to Bangkok, Dubai, and finally Tehran, where they were abducted by a man identified as “Baba.”The kidnappers allegedly sent a ransom video to the families, demanding crores for their release. Patel has urged the Ministry of External Affairs to coordinate with the Indian Embassy in Tehran for their rescue.
Bapupura sarpanch Prakashbhai Chaudhary has also written to the Home Minister, confirming the abduction and sharing travel and hotel details of the victims.Officials from Gujarat Police and central agencies are investigating the suspected human trafficking racket that targets youths with fake overseas job offers. Efforts are on to locate the victims through diplomatic channels, officials said.
