Travellers in Ahmedabad were duped of crores after a tour operator allegedly fled without delivering promised Dubai visas and tickets. Customers who visited the office of Vacation Holidays near Shivranjani crossroads on Thursday found it locked, with the operator missing.
Dozens of victims rushed to Anandnagar and Satellite police stations to file complaints, reporting losses ranging from a few lakhs to over 30 lakh. One group said they lost 7 lakh, while others claimed losses between 3–20 lakh. Payment receipts were issued, but no tickets or visas followed.
Videos of the shuttered office went viral, drawing public outrage. Even the firm’s peon alleged unpaid dues. Police confirmed receiving multiple complaints and said efforts are on to trace the absconding operator.
