Ahmedabad Police have registered an FIR after unidentified men and a woman allegedly broke into a private hostel near V S Hospital in Ellisbridge late Monday night and assaulted students, leaving two injured.
According to a media report, the complaint by Krish Patel (19), a fifth-semester MSc IT student at J G University residing in D K P Hostel, the incident occurred around 1.30 am when he stepped out to use the washroom. Two intruders allegedly abused him and later attacked his hostelmate, Prince Bharatbhai Patel, with a stick. When Krish tried to intervene, he too was beaten, sustaining injuries on his hand and waist.
Soon after, two more men and a woman entered the premises, damaged another student’s room door and window, and issued death threats before fleeing. Several hostel residents witnessed the incident and alerted the police, but the attackers escaped before help arrived.
Police said the victims suffered minor injuries and are receiving treatment. The case has been registered at Ellisbridge police station under charges of unlawful entry, assault, criminal intimidation, and property damage.
“We have identified some suspects and are working to trace them. CCTV footage from the area is being examined,” a senior officer said.
