In a shocking incident in Kutch’s Adipur, a 19-year-old college student slapped his principal after being reprimanded for indiscipline and not wearing the prescribed uniform.
The incident took place on Monday at Tolani Arts and Science College, where principal Sushil Dharmani (60) confronted Rajvirsinh Mohansinh Chavda and six others for sitting in the parking area without uniforms. Dharmani reportedly questioned them about their conduct, asking, “Why are you sitting here in the parking area, and where is your uniform?”
Angered by the remarks, Chavda allegedly argued that his self-esteem had been hurt and demanded a public apology. Matters escalated when he slapped the principal in front of his peers.
The assault triggered massive outrage in Adipur, with more than 1,000 people—including students, faculty members, and alumni—marching to the local police station. Police later booked Chavda and six others for the incident and arrested them.
