Ahmedabad: Out-of-control AMC garbage truck rams 7 vehicles; 1 dead, 3 injured

In a tragic incident, a 51-year-old man died and three others were injured after an out-of-control Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) garbage truck crashed into multiple vehicles in the Jamalpur area.

According to a media report, Police said the driver has been booked, and CCTV footage of the accident is now going viral on social media.

Police have arrested the driver, who is identified as Rahul Haresh Parmar. Police reported that he doesn’t have a valid driving license and was allegedly driving the van “negligently”. Police also reported that the driver was driving the vehicle at an excessive speed.

The video of the incident went viral on social media. @ posted the clip on X. The caption of the post reads, “In Jamalpur, Ahmedabad, a garbage truck caused an accident. It collided with 7 vehicles one after another, resulting in one person’s d3@th.”
Casualities and Injuries

Police said 51-year-old Yasin Yusuf Barafwala died on the spot from severe injuries, while three others were also hurt in the accident.

Based on a complaint by the victim’s son, Faizan, E Division Traffic Police booked driver Rahul Haresh Parmar under BNS sections for culpable homicide, endangering life, rash driving, and mischief, along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
