Police in Udaipur’s Nai area raided a rave party at Hotel Ganesh on Kodiyat Road on August 2, arresting 51 people—36 of whom are from Gujarat.
According to a media report, acting on a tip-off, police learned that organiser Vishwajit Solanki had allegedly arranged for women to perform provocative dances (mujra) and engage in prostitution. Reports also indicated that illegal liquor was being served at the party.
To verify the information, an undercover police officer posed as a customer. Once the claims were confirmed, police raided the hotel, causing panic among the attendees. Some tried to escape by climbing to the rooftop or running, but were caught.
The arrested individuals came from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra, and other regions. Police seized illegal liquor, sound systems, and three large vehicles, including a bus used to transport people from Gujarat.
Cases have been filed under prostitution and liquor-related laws, along with various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Since loud music was being played after 10 PM near the Sajjangarh eco-sensitive zone, charges were also filed under the Rajasthan Noise Pollution Act.
