According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Monday, the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) in Ahmedabad was 10.7%, meaning that one out of every ten tests was positive for the infection.
It was the district’s second consecutive day with a high TPR, and it is one of 32 districts in India with a TPR of 10% or higher for Covid tests.
As of Monday morning, Gujarat had 1,697 active cases, the third highest behind Kerala with 2,471 cases and Maharashtra with 2,117, according to MoHFW.
On Monday, the state recorded 301 new Covid cases, including 114 from Ahmedabad, 27 each from Surat and Morbi, 26 from Vadodara, 19 from Rajkot, 18 from Gandhinagar, 16 from Vadodara, and 12 from Amreli.
