The Border Security Force (BSF) during joint search operation with the Jakhau Marine Police seized 49 packets of drugs, suspected to be heroin, from Sayali creek in the Arabian Sea near the Jakhau port area on Sunday, said the BSF officials.
The market value of the drugs recovered is estimated to be around Rs 250 crore.
The BSF added that on the night of May 30 and 31, the Coast Guard and Gujarat Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) seized a Pakistani boat near the international maritime boundary line (IMBL) between Sir Creek and Jakhau Port and detained seven people on board, all of whom were Pakistani nationals.
The drugs were dumped in the sea by the boat’s crew during the operation, according to the BSF.
The drugs thrown into the sea by the Pakistani boat, according to BSF Bhuj’s assessment of the situation. BSF Bhuj was placed on high alert following the incident, and continuous search operations were launched.
As a result, the BSF Bhuj recovered 49 drug packets, according to the BSF.
