A total of 4,518 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours taking the countries Active caseload to 25,782.
With new cases the total caseload of India stands to 4,31,81,335, a 5.8 per cent higher than yesterday, while the toll stands at 5,24,701
Meanwhile, 2,779 recoveries in the last 24 hours were recorded taking the total recovery to 4,26,30,852. Recovery Rate currently at 98.73%
According to the health ministry, five states that have registered the maximum number of cases are Kerala (1,544), followed by Maharashtra (1,494), Delhi (343), Karnataka (301) and Haryana (148).
Meanwhile, India has administered 2,57,187 doses of Covid vaccine in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,94,12,87,000.
A health official from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) confirmed that the city of Ahmedabad is seeing a steady “rising trend in new cases.”
The AMC jurisdiction reported as many as 42 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, a significant increase from the city’s fewer than 10 cases reported in the first week of May.
The city has been reporting upwards of 20 cases each day since May 30.
Ahmedabad’s new cases accounted for 61% of all new cases in the state. As of Sunday, there were 200 active cases in Ahmedabad, out of a total of 340 active cases across the state.
