IDBI Bank customers should prepare for possible disruptions to in-person banking services on November 2 and 3, 2026, as a section of the bank’s employees is set to participate in a two-day strike.
Ahead of the proposed protest, IDBI Bank has urged customers to complete urgent transactions and other branch-dependent work beforehand to avoid last-minute difficulties.
The bank has indicated that customers will still be able to access several services through digital platforms, ATMs and Customer Service Points (CSPs).
What Has Triggered the Strike?
The bank has confirmed receiving a strike notice from an employee association or union for November 2 and 3.
However, the exact demands and issues prompting the protest have not been mentioned in the customer advisory released by IDBI Bank on October 31 through its official X account.
The bank has not provided further details about the employees’ concerns in the advisory.
Will Bank Branches Remain Open?
The proposed strike may affect the functioning of IDBI Bank branches, depending on the extent of employee participation.
Customers visiting branches for paperwork, cheque-related work, account assistance and other services requiring staff intervention could face longer waiting periods or delays.
Those with scheduled banking requirements are advised not to postpone essential work until the strike dates.
Which Services Will Be Available?
While physical branch operations may be affected, IDBI Bank has assured customers that its alternative banking facilities will continue to operate.
The following services are expected to remain accessible:
- Mobile Banking: Customers can carry out eligible transactions through the Go Mobile+ application.
- Internet Banking: Online banking facilities will remain available.
- UPI Payments: Digital payments can continue through supported UPI platforms.
- ATM Services: Cash withdrawal facilities will remain accessible.
- Customer Service Points: CSPs are also expected to continue providing banking services.
The bank has further announced that customers withdrawing cash from ATMs operated by other banks will not be charged during the two-day strike period.
Important Advice for Customers
Customers who need to visit an IDBI Bank branch should complete their work before November 2 wherever possible.
It would also be advisable to keep sufficient cash for immediate requirements and check access to mobile and internet banking facilities in advance.
Although alternative channels are expected to function normally, customers should keep in mind that ATM cash availability and individual service access may vary.
Bank Appeals for Customers’ Cooperation
Through its October 31 advisory, IDBI Bank acknowledged the possibility of inconvenience arising from the proposed strike and requested customers’ cooperation.
The bank has encouraged account holders to make use of its digital and alternative banking channels while branch operations may be affected.
Customers should keep checking the bank’s official communication platforms for any fresh announcements or changes concerning the strike.
