Sarkhej police raided an alleged illegal hookah bar operating from a café on the Sarkhej-Sanand Highway and seized hookahs, nicotine-containing tobacco-flavoured products and other related equipment worth ₹12,740, officials said.Two men allegedly involved in running the hookah bar have been booked, and further legal proceedings are underway, police said.
Police Conduct Raid During Night Patrolling
The raid was carried out by the Sarkhej police surveillance team during night patrolling after officials received information about an alleged illegal hookah bar being operated from The Moon Bean Cafe, located behind Shri Ram Motors and opposite Sarkhej-Makarba West Gate on SG Highway.A police team led by Police Sub-Inspector A R Boliya subsequently raided the café.According to police, hookahs containing tobacco-flavoured material with nicotine were being served at the premises. Officers also recovered packets of different hookah flavours, hookahs and other equipment.The total value of the seized items was estimated at ₹12,740, police said.
Two Café Operators Booked
The accused have been identified as Harsh Devenbhai Tripathi, 23, a resident of Navrangpura, and Jainam Salimbhai Doshi, 24, a resident of Vastrapur.Police questioned the two men at the spot and seized the recovered material as part of the investigation.
Further investigation and legal proceedings are currently underway, police said.
