The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced free travel for women and children up to 15 years of age on all BRTS and city buses in Surat on August 28, 2026, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The free travel facility will be available throughout the day on buses operated under the SMC’s public transport network.
Free Travel for Women and Children
The initiative aims to make it easier for women and children to travel across the city during the Raksha Bandhan festival.
The SMC operates BRTS and city bus services across Surat and nearby areas at affordable fares.
Women and eligible children have been encouraged to make use of the free public transport service while travelling on Raksha Bandhan.
