Vadodara may soon get a new tourist attraction inspired by the city’s famous crocodiles in the Vishwamitri River. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has proposed building a crocodile-shaped pedestrian bridge at Sayaji Baug (Kamati Baug) to replace the old bridge across the river.
The 57-metre-long bridge will have a unique design that will make visitors feel like they are walking through the open mouth of a giant crocodile, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.
The proposed bridge will be 57 metres long and 7.8 metres wide. It will include a dedicated 3-metre-wide cycle track and a pedestrian walkway. The bridge will also feature modern LED lighting to create an attractive view at night.
The project is estimated to cost ₹11.25 crore. Through this unique design, VMC aims to create a new city landmark and boost tourism in Vadodara.
