Ahmedabad has officially wrapped up the first edition of the UrbanX Ahmedabad: City Innovation and Startup Engagement Programme, an initiative by iHub in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Over three days, twenty startups showcased their innovative ideas aimed at tackling pressing urban challenges.
The program concluded on Thursday at the iHub facility, where various concepts were pitched across diverse sectors. Some of the key verticals included sustainability, energy solutions, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), artificial intelligence (AI), deep technology, information and communication technology (ICT), sanitation and waste management, environmental health, transportation, and parking.
A senior official from iHub noted that out of 170 total entries received for the program, 41 were selected to interact directly with senior officials from AMC. This level of engagement underlines a commitment to fostering innovation within the city.
This initiative marks a significant step toward empowering local entrepreneurs and addressing urban issues through technology-driven solutions. As cities face mounting pressures from population growth and environmental concerns, programs like UrbanX are essential to encourage startup participation in creating sustainable urban environments.
