The Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) has begun a year-long programme to mark its 70th anniversary, celebrating seven decades of its contribution to management education, professional development and thought leadership.
Founded in 1956 by Dr Vikram Sarabhai and a group of visionaries, AMA formally entered its Platinum Jubilee year in August. The celebrations opened with a special programme featuring brand consultant Suhel Seth as the keynote speaker.
AMA Programme Committee member and Hester Biosciences Director Priya Gandhi, while inaugurating the celebrations, highlighted the organisation’s journey over the past seven decades. She described the milestone as “70 AMAzing years” and spoke about the need to build on AMA’s legacy while preparing for the future.
The association also unveiled its Platinum Jubilee logo during the event. Suhel Seth spoke on the theme “Brand India: The Challenges and What Indians Must Do”, examining India’s changing image on the global stage.
Seth highlighted the challenges involved in strengthening India’s international reputation and emphasised the role of citizens, institutions and leaders in shaping the country’s global identity.
The programme concluded with remarks and a vote of thanks by AMA Programme Committee member Piyalee Chattopadhyay, Global Programme Manager at TiE.
AMA officials said the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will continue throughout the year, with a series of programmes aimed at marking the association’s seven-decade journey and its continuing role in management and professional development.
