In a worrying incident in Ahmedabad, around 60 girl students from an SP Hostel in the Memnagar area fell ill after a meal. They were rushed to nearby private hospitals, where 18 are still admitted, while others have been discharged after their condition improved.
According to sources, the students reported symptoms such as diarrhoea, vomiting, severe weakness, and in some cases, high fever.All affected students received treatment across multiple private hospitals.
While many were treated in OPD or kept under observation, a few required emergency care.The cases have emerged over the past 24 hours, prompting concern among authorities due to the sudden rise in illness.
Preliminary reports point to suspected food poisoning, but an official confirmation is yet to be issued.
