Customs officials at Ahmedabad International Airport arrested a woman passenger arriving from Bangkok after seizing nearly one kilogram of hydroponic marijuana concealed inside chocolate packets.
The seizure was made on February 2 during a routine check of her luggage. Officials recovered nine sealed chocolate packets, which raised suspicion. Upon inspection, the packets were found to contain green powder instead of chocolates. Forensic tests later confirmed the substance to be hydroponic ganja weighing 948 grams, with an estimated market value of ₹94 lakh.
Following the arrest, authorities have initiated a detailed investigation into the woman’s travel history to ascertain whether she is connected to a larger drug smuggling network.
