SR Mehta Arts College, which is part of the Navgujarat Group of Colleges, recently conducted a two-day hands-on workshop under its Innovation Club at the campus. The workshop was aimed at developing and improving the scientific temper and practical learning among students.
Led by an expert trainer, Mr Jeet Parihar, the workshop saw participation of some 75 students. Students witnessed live demonstrations of modern technology tools and applications along with interactions with the experts. They were introduced to devices such as flying drones, microscopes, solar panel, rain detection sensor, sound detection sensor, automatic door opening system using ultrasonic sensor and servo motor and home automation systems giving them real-world exposure to innovation-driven learning.
One of the key focal points of the Home Automation Workshop was using the ESP8266 microcontroller board configured with RemoteXY software. This enabled students to understand how smart systems are designed and controlled in real-life settings.
The programme was organised with the support of the Principal of the college Dr Darsha Jani and the Coordinator of the Innovation Club Dr Shobhana Nair.
