Vadodara has reason to cheer as four promising karate players from the city clinched gold medals at the 4th All India Inter-Zonal Karate Championship 2025, held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, on December 1 and 2.
The prestigious national-level event was organised by the Karate India Organisation (KIO) and brought together the country’s top karate athletes. Participation was limited to gold and silver medallists from the zonal championships representing the North, South, East, West and North-East zones, making the competition extremely intense.
Competing for Gujarat under the banner of the Karate Do Federation of Gujarat (KDF), the Vadodara athletes put up impressive performances against strong contenders from across India. Their technical skill, discipline and fighting spirit helped them dominate their respective categories.
The gold medallists from Vadodara are:
- Partharajsinh Jadeja (10) – 40 kg category
- Advika Chandra (13) – 45 kg category
- Yashvi Patel (13) – 60 kg category
- Kartik Huyal – Senior category
Their achievement has brought pride to Vadodara and the state of Gujarat. Coaches, parents and members of the karate fraternity have lauded the youngsters for their dedication and success, and expressed confidence in their future.
There is growing optimism that these young champions will continue to excel and eventually represent India on international platforms such as the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics, carrying the state and the nation’s flag on the global stage.
