In a major anti-drug operation, the Gujarat Police’s State Monitoring Cell (SMC) raided a residence in Harmain 33, Sarkhej, on October 24, and seized 289.7 grams of mephedrone worth ₹28.97 lakh.
Along with the drugs, police also confiscated ₹1.23 lakh in cash, two vehicles worth ₹23 lakh, three mobile phones, a money-counting machine, and weighing scales — bringing the total recovery to about ₹53.66 lakh.
The main accused, Parvezmiya Shaikh, and co-accused Mohammad Zaid Qureshi, both residents of Harmain 33, were handed over to Sarkhej police. Two alleged buyers, Mohammad Husainbhai Aala of Junagadh and Tejas Kirtikant Kareliya of Sarkhej, were also detained.
Three others — alleged suppliers Aazamkhan, Arbazkhan, and customer Noman Sheikh of Vejalpur — remain wanted. Officials said the operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on synthetic drug trade in Ahmedabad.
