A 25-year-old man, Akshil Dineshbhai Jaysinghani, created a ruckus at Satellite Police Station in Ahmedabad after being brought in for public nuisance while intoxicated.
Police said Akshil, son of a local businessman and resident of Revati Tower, was detained around 1:30 am on Monday for shouting and misbehaving on the road. He was taken to the station for legal action.
Around 2:20 am, Akshil grabbed a glass bottle near the complaint room window and struck Constable Vipulsinh Dolubha on the head, causing injury and bleeding. He reportedly shouted that the complaint against him was unfair before being overpowered by police staff.
The injured constable received medical treatment, and an FIR has been registered against Akshil for assaulting an on-duty officer and violating prohibition laws.
