An unidentified thief allegedly broke into a Mahindra car showroom near the Sola High Court in Ahmedabad and stole 7.45 lakh in cash late on the night of September 26.
According to the FIR filed at the Sola High Court Police Station, Puneet Rajnikant Shah (43), General Manager at Param Automotive Pvt Ltd, reported that cash from two days of car servicing was missing from the showroom safe.
The theft came to light early on September 27 when the security guard, Dilip Tiwari, found the safe broken and papers scattered. Shah and the company accountant later discovered that 7.45 lakh was missing.
Police said the burglar entered through a broken canteen window on the first floor, adjoining the accounts office. No other valuables were taken.
Investigators believe the suspect was familiar with the showroom layout and targeted the accounts section. CCTV footage from the showroom and nearby areas is being reviewed. No arrests have been made yet.
