A petrol pump supervisor near Hathijan Circle in Ahmedabad has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 17-year-old female employee and making obscene demands over the past three months, police said on Tuesday.
The Vatva GIDC police registered a case under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after the girl filed a complaint detailing repeated harassment at work.
The accused, Manish Parihar, was taken into custody after the victim reported that he molested her in his office on October 6. The frightened teen later informed the petrol pump owner, who advised her to approach the police.
Police said Parihar has been remanded in custody, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing staff to determine if similar incidents occurred earlier.
