Gujarat recorded 634 rape cases in 2023, with women aged 18–30 being the most affected, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report 2023.
Overall crimes against women—including murder, assault, rape, harassment, domestic violence, acid attacks, and gang rapes—rose from 7,378 cases in 2021 to 7,805 in 2023, reflecting a growing sense of insecurity among women in the state. In the past two years, Gujarat reported 14 gang rapes and 2 acid attacks.
The report shows that 2,179 cases involved physical assault by husbands or in-laws, while 234 women were raped more than once. On average, 50 rape cases are reported each month in the state. Women aged 18–30 accounted for 434 of the victims, while 188 were aged 30–45.

- Cybercrime against women is rising, with 9 cases of blackmail and 96 cases of harassment through obscene content.
