A 25-year-old woman from Asarwa lodged a police complaint on Wednesday after her personal photos and a video call with a male friend were allegedly leaked on social media through fake Instagram accounts.
According to a media report, that someone created two fake Instagram accounts. According to her, these accounts uploaded her personal photos and private video chats without consent.
The incident came to light in June 2025 when her friend Sachin informed her about a video he had received from a fake Instagram account. The video showed her and Sachin talking on a video call. Along with the video, a photo was also circulated with misleading captions mentioning her and her family members, allegedly intended to tarnish her image. Police have begun their investigation.
