CID Crime Ahmedabad has booked a conman, cheating people by claiming connections with politicians and high-ranking officials.
The Accused has been identified as Jitu Barot, he had been circling around in the police galleries for a long time. Barot’s fraud came to light when Soma Patel, a resident of Satellite, submitted an application with the CID Crime, stating Barot had sought Rs 3 crore to settle his son’s divorce case.
Patel, in his application, alleged that Jeetendra alias Jeetu Barot, who lives in Manav Mandir area, settles land disputes for money. Barot would claim good connections with politicians and high-ranking officials, and would assure people to settle disputes using these connections.
Patel had recorded his conversation with Barot about settling the divorce case of his son.
Barot is heard taking names of some politicians and high-ranking police officers in the telephonic recording. The clip also recorded Barot, asking for Rs 3 crore of which he sought 50 per cent in advance and the rest after the settlement.
