Almost ten days after her suicide, deceased Dr Vaishali Joshi’s sister, Kinjal Raval, has lodged a complaint against police inspector (PI) BK Khachar, whose name was mentioned in Joshi’s suicide note. Raval mentioned in the complaint that she was unaware of Joshi’s relationship with PI Khachar.
It was the evening of Mar 6 when a 32-year-old woman killed herself after self-administering an injection in her leg on the premises of the Economics Offences Wing (EOW) of the Ahmedabad crime branch.
In the preliminary investigation, the police found that Joshi and Khachar contacted each other in 2020.
According to reports, they were connected via social media and later met each other occasionally.
Joshi’s fatal step was followed by a relationship crisis with Khachar. In her suicide note, she clearly mentioned, “I have been played emotionally. PI BK Khachar is responsible for the steps I am taking.”
The police have recorded the statements of the deceased’s family members, colleagues, and PG mates.
Currently, police are in search of absconding PI Khachar.
