In a bone-chilling incident that took place in Ahmedabad, a relative has been accused of raping his minor niece. The city’s Isanpur Police swung into action after a case was filed over this horrific incident.
The accused, maternal uncle of the 16-year-old victim has been nabbed and is charged with several other sections along with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
It is learned that the victim lived with her family in Ahmedabad’s Isanpur area, while the accused came from Uttar Pradesh and lived next to her house, which happened to be their mutual relatives’.He frequently visited the minor’s house.
On one instance in April last year, when minor was home alone because of festivities, the accused showed up at her door. He reportedly took advantage of this situation and raped the girl. Such acts were reportedly repeated four to five times with her over a long period, which eventually got the minor pregnant.
After minor complained of severe pain, she was shifted to a hospital, and the wrongdoing was revealed to her kin. Following this, a complaint was registered by her mother at the Isanpur police station. The accused was found to have absconded back to UP to evade action, but the police deployed a team to nab him. Following his arrest, several sections, including the POCSO Act, were levied on him.
