Rural SP Om Prakash Jat on Monday discussed security measures with Garba organisers ahead of the upcoming festivities. Around 20 commercial Garba events are expected to be held at farms, party plots and clubs across Bopal, Shela, Hathijan and Sanand.Police said every venue will undergo a 24-point security audit each day through the respective police station.
Organisers have also been directed to submit fire safety, electrical safety and structural stability certificates to the local police station daily.Major venues will be required to have police, women and children’s help desks, CCTV control rooms and medical teams. Separate entry queues for women, along with female bouncers and security guards, will also be mandatory.Six police teams in traditional attire and khaki uniforms will monitor venues, parking areas and isolated spots.
Police deployment on roads will continue until 1 am through Diwali, while night patrolling will be conducted from 11 pm to 5 am.Organisers have been asked to appoint a nodal officer to coordinate with the local police station. Drones and AI-based technology will also be used for crowd management.
Police said they will take action against illegal parking collections and unauthorised sale of event passes. Organisers have also been instructed not to exceed the permitted capacity of their venues and to ensure that photographs are not taken without consent.
